Drip bowls have a purpose beyond looking attractive. Drip bowls capture and reflect heat back to the coil which makes the burner work more efficiently. Drip bowls also catch spills that otherwise would drip down into the internal workings of the stove and can prevent electric shock to the user.
Simple To Install
You do not need any tools to complete this repair. Before reinstalling the components, make sure the bowl is flat. First, simply remove the burner element, remove the old bowl, and then align the holes on the new bowl with the junction box and place it in place. When removing the components, check whether the terminals are corroded, damaged or discolored.
