Self regulating cables have an adaptable heat output and consist of two parallel bus wires embedded in a networked plastic heat element with surrounding carbon particles. If the temperature increases during operation, the plastic will expand and the distance between the carbon particles increases, resistance increases and output drops. When ambient temperature falls, this process is reversed and heat output increases–this is the principle of self regulation.
Self regulating cables is based on PTC (positive temperature coefficient) conductive material technology, and its core feature is the self-regulating temperature function. The internal conductive polymer substrate can dynamically adjust the resistance value in response to changes in environmental temperature, achieving autonomous matching of heating power – when the surface temperature of the pipe or equipment rises, the resistance value increases simultaneously, and the output power automatically decreases;conversely, the heating intensity is enhanced.
