The stainless steel tube heating element usually consists of a thin coil of resistive heating alloy wire, usually nickelchromium alloy (NiCr) whose ends are connected to the terminal pins, and electrically insulated with a metal tube or stainless steel alloy by a ceramic insulating material, fused magnesium oxide powder. The tube ends are usually equipped with beads of insulating material, such as ceramic or silicone rubber, or a combination of both, to prevent moisture from penetrating the elements.
